Workshop C5: Market design and regulation to boost the hosting capacity for AI-driven data centers

The workshop will feature presentations by international experts, from the data center industry and system operators, to assess the impact of AI-driven data center growth on power systems, explore data centers as flexible / dispatchable loads, evaluate market mechanisms enabling the participation of AI-driven data centers (energy, capacity, ancillary services), and identify regulatory and commercial barriers.
The presentations will focus on real-world case studies and emerging pilots, and envision directions for future CIGRE technical activities.
