This workshop aims to present various perspectives on SF6 reduction and its replacement in high-voltage equipment by alternative technologies.
A brief overview will be given of present and past CIGRE activities on SF6-free high-voltage equipment.
Panellists will discuss availability and application of alternative technologies, as well as studies on lifetime performance assessment of the alternative insulating/switching media.
Industry specialists will highlight the actual regulatory status of SF6, fluorinated gases and PFAS in various regions of the world.
In the plenary part, panellist will interact with the audience through questions and comments.
