This tutorial will present the framework for digital twins applied to power transformers, developed by JWG A2/D2.65. It introduces the key concepts, architectures, and maturity levels required to evolve from basic digital representation to advanced decision support systems. The session will highlight current industry adoption, based on a global survey, showing strong interest but limited large scale implementation. It will explain how digital twins integrate diverse data sources and combine physical and data driven models to deliver reliable insights. Particular attention will be given to hybrid modelling approaches, data quality, and model validation. The tutorial will also address reliability, uncertainty management, and cybersecurity aspects. Finally, it will provide practical recommendations for implementation, focusing on high impact use cases such as condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and lifecycle optimisation of transformers.
