2024 Paris Session

The 2024 event is the second Session of CIGRE’s second century and our 50^th since inception. We are excited to once again draw together our unique global community in the place of our founding, the city of light!

The Paris Session is the leading global event for power system expertise. We are expecting thousands of delegates to join us from every corner of the globe with an increasingly diverse mix of participating industry segments, geographies, people and knowledge. 

As in the past the 2024 Session offers delegates a comprehensive technical experience, including the recently added CIGRE TV allowing delegates to keep up with the multi-faceted programme.

Delegates will also be able to use the many events within the congress to connect face-to-face with the CIGRE community, enjoying all the benefits of in-person networking. 

From a technical perspective the Session follows its unique 'thought leadership congress' format spanning the end-to-end power system. The 16 Study Committees of CIGRE will each host Group Discussion Meetings. As in the past contributions will be sort and welcomed. 

These in-depth meetings are complimented by a range of other events and global networking opportunities including:

• The poster Sessions, where hundreds of experts present 800+ new papers including many on the energy transition.
• Six workshops on salient and emerging industry issues
• Sixteen Tutorials covering a diverse range of important subjects
• Various social events including the famous Soiree.

We’re also excited to host the huge and sort after global Technical Exhibition. This features all the key organisations spanning the global power system. Our exhibitors look forward to sharing with our community the latest innovations, services and products that are sure to inspire great interest.

Join us in beautiful Paris in August 2024 for CIGRE's second Session of its second century! As our world deals with the challenges of decarbonisation CIGRE is an emerging leader in the energy transition space. At the dawn of our new century, we are proud this is a focus of many of the key technical discussions of our 50th Session.
