The famous CIGRE Soirée, the must attend, uniquely Parisian event and a special occasion to mark the significance of the Biennial Session is back!

After nearly 4 years of virtual encounters where we couldn't celebrate the hard work of the CIGRE Community in an in-person gathering, we are looking forward to entertain our delegates in a very special venue for the 2022 edition.

Date: September 1st, 2022 from 7:30 to 11 pm. CEST

Venue: Les Pavillons de Bercy - Musée des Arts Forains

Address: 53 Avenue des Terroirs de France - 75012 PARIS

The Pavillons de Bercy, a peaceful heaven in the middle of Paris, offers four venues and outdoor gardens. Two of these venues are booked for the CIGRE soirée:

Musée des Arts Forains:

This millstone building, designed at the end of the 19th century by one of Gustave Eiffel’s apprentices now houses the replica of an ancient funfair with merry-go-rounds and attractions.

You will have the opportunity to ride the centenary merry-go-rounds and enjoy several other attractions. Upon entering the site, you will be transported back to the 1900’s, the golden age of funfairs.

Théâtre du Merveilleux:

This palace of marvels and illusions, where the real and the virtual meet, will provide you with an unforgettable experience. With its imposing iron beams and brick-arched openings, its structure bears witness of the industrial architecture of the late 1800s. The scenery pays tribute to a form of entertainment that was popular in the 19th century « The Theatre of Marvels and its phantasmagorias ».
